On October 11th, 2017, Penn students, faculty, and librarians as well as members of the general public gathered at the Penn Libraries’ Education Commons to participate in a 5-hour “mapathon” that benefited disaster relief workers in Puerto Rico.

Using satellite images from the OpenStreetMap Tasking Manager, volunteers were able to work on a map that will provide data for Red Cross volunteers planning and conducting relief operations on the island.
